I guess it was Nietzsche the one who said that… (don’t get confused, i only got to the middle of the Also sprach Zarathustra book….)
It seams that the more human we are, the more we distance ourselves of what nature intended.
Have you ever seen 2 animals fighting with a console full of buttons?
One of the recent wars, that not too many people paid attention, because there was not “casualties”, but is none the less a big step on the war game, was in the late 2007, when russian hackers attacked Estonia.
Someone attacked a country on the web?
Yes, and if things gone out of hand, casualties could (and will) happen.
Estonia, with only 1.3 million people, has the strongest internet use in the planet.
Those crazy estonians love their internet.
98% of all bank transactions are made on the net.
There’s barely no trace of “paper” on public institutions.
All public institutions work on the web.
So yes, hackers attacked a whole country.
It’s too human… way too human.
Less than hundred years ago, on the great war (that’s WWI for those of you too young to remember it) was the last big war in which frontal confrontation was part of the battle. Horses were a big part of it… this is before the panzers and airplanes…
Now, some crazy fanatic of Hollywood movies, amusement
parks and high heels is threatening the planet with his nuclear test… just a button…
but there’s still a confrontation… someone has to load a physical bomb…
But after 2 years of the “cyberwar”, I think…
what if someone just delete all the info about me on the CPR database… then i will be no-citizen in DK.. but if someone deletes the same in Spain i will be pretty much no one…
John carlin wrote in 1997 an article for Wired magazine called “A Farewell to Arms”, that talks about this same issue… the information war.
It’s worth reading it… (as a funny fact, Die Hard 4 was based on it!)
It will be good to stop being so humans… and maybe go back a little bit and be more animals!
Maybe standing up in the kantine to go and talk to someone and say: “Do you want to be my friend? wanna go for a tea?” instead of that virtual(human) friend request…
Sometimes I’m tired of telling people what’s on my mind…
i miss the times when people approached me to ask me that…
more animal times, i guess

I have a horrible advice for those of you who feels stuck with the report writing. It is horrible, because it involves writing even more than what you are already bound to do, and it is completely useless for the report itself. I am going to share it with you anyway, because it works!
It is relatively easy to write, when we know ‘what’ to write. But sometimes the thoughts just won’t translate themselves into words, and simple ideas becomes impossible to describe. But fear not, my frustrated fellow creatures!
This is what you do. You pick 3 random words, either from this danish “inspirationsmaskinen“, the dictionary, the newspaper or some other fancy element of text. Then you start writing a little story, where all three words should be included. You have 10 minutes to write half a page, so you need to push yourself a little.
When you are done, you read it through a couple of times. Then you throw it out and start writing on the report.
I could tell you why I think it works, but I’ll let you figure that out for yourselves…
Happy report writing!
Wow! What a wonderful night that was. Yes, I am talking about Creativity Night on 12 May 7pm-4am in Chill Out.
The real creative friends gathered there and shared their creativities from deep of their hearts. They expressed their dreams in reality. The Chill Out room got life when they hanged their great works on windows and walls.
Thanks Marco who was the main organizer of that night. I am also proud to be one of the organizers.
Its just a start that will continue further on at CTA, promise.
Sir Ken Robinson, - an internationally recognized leader in the development of innovation and human resources (wikipedia says so, and i believe it), gave this speech about education and creativity…
Interesting to see it as a student, but i guess more as a teacher… (hint)

I feel a bit dirty passing this on, but I have run into a ‘trendspotter’ website which is full of extraordinary stuff for ‘early adopters’ everywhere. It is the website of ‘trendhunter’ magazine. Just the name of it would turn my stomach under any normal circumstances, but I have found myself hooked on what seems to be an endless parade of decadence. From pierced eyeballs to shoes made of real horse hooves; From online funeral planning services to ‘soap knuckles‘.
Trendhunter succeeds, like youtube, by being throroughly – almost incestuously – cross-referenced, with a pretty effective search engine. After a while, the uncanny awareness that there are almost no links out of the site (the cult/casino design strategy) generates a peculiar kind of hypnosis – like being trapped in a hall of mirrors, each more bizarre than the others.
In these financially depressed times, it’s ironic to watch the innovators and battery farms of capitalism kicking out such diversity so desperately. The ‘energy paradox’ of any living system is that it becomes most active as it begins to starve. Some of these ideas are actually quite ingenious. Others make me wonder how on earth mankind is ever going to pull itself together, rise out of the consensus trance focused on idle innovation for its own sake, and for maximum profit rather than solving basic logistical problems such as cutting child mortality. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to get back to a report on how using sex in advertising doesn’t work.
Today i heard the most amazing facebook related story.
Is about a girl, a mother and facebook…
The mother had problems, and left the family when the girl was less than 3 years old.
Almost 20 years later, the mother re appear, and after a phone call, added the daughter as a “friend” on facebook.
The daughter has never seen her, and has only talk to her a couple of times in her life…
Talking about real/virtual life!
A few years ago, kids were forced to memorize facts at school…
I used to know by heart my friends phone numbers, sometimes their address and even their email. I remembered birthdays, anniversaries and other important dates.
I used to buy magazines about music and then talk to friends and discover new things about our favorite bands. I even joined a fan club (I will keep the name of the band secret for my own safety) and waited for weeks for a newsletter that I saved as a treasure!
I used to save photos of my friends and family in albums!
Now, I don’t remember any phone number (I still remember some old friends number, from 1997!), never ask for the email -except for some cases that is really necessary, don’t care about dates, appointments and/or birthdays. I’m tired of the newsletters on my inbox every morning (the email inbox…).
if I want to know anything about a band… I just go to wikipedia.
And I have tons of photos that will never be on paper, floating on the cloud, that are shared instantly with the rest of the world…
Somehow is not that there’s a real life, and a virtual one.. is that the virtual took over the real!
It’s evolution.. 100 years ago, to talk to someone, it was in person… then the phone came along… then the email, sms and chats…
Now we don’t talk… or we’re getting there… twitter and facebook status (microblogs) are pushing the conversation to a “one talking-many listening-no one caring”.
There’s a funny movie about facebook… it’s the second part of a trilogy (it’ll be cool if they make a twitter, the movie). The first part is myspace the movie… links to follow…
(i guess twitter is not that big in DK yet)
